Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (1998)

Before I immerse into this one I've gotta say that the movie, Fear & Loathing, is definitely one of my all-time favs. The sheer brilliance of the utter nonsense-dialogue spoken throughout the movie combined with the psychedelic performances from Johnny Depp (who preparing for the role as Raoul Duke moved into the basement of [original novel author] Thompson's home and lived there for four months) and Benicio Del Toro make watching the end-result an experience each time.

Following Charlie Sheen's cocaine-fueled overkills, there's something vaguely similar about the infamous "You can't process me with a normal brain"-rant he made on NBC's "The Today Show" in 2011, briefly after his previous unload while phoning the American talk radio program "The Alex Jones Show" led CBS to halt the production of Two and a Half Men and subsequently dismiss him from the show altogether.

So, looking at Sheen's 'meltdowns' from the past couple of years, it seems to me like he has already undergone the perfect studies to re-portray this eccentric antihero that is Raoul Duke, don't you think? You know, unless Keith Richards is available.
